What is NISD Esports?

It is the mission of NISD Esports to connect competitive gamers with each other, provide a social avenue to discuss competitive gaming, and to foster personal skills through gaming such as critical/strategic thinking, problem-solving, reflection, communication, teamwork, and leadership.

Students will participate in qualifying matches, and depending on their placement they may be asked to compete in the seasonal NISD Esports Championship in the Fall/Spring.

What are the rules? What are the responsibilities of my student?

  • All students who participate in NISD Esports must abide by the NISD Student Code of Conduct, and esports code of conduct, which can be found at bit.ly/nisdesportsconduct.

  • Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Middle School Esports League (MSEL), depending on their grade level. Different games will be available to these students, and a separate permission form must be completed in order to participate.

  • Students will be held to the same eligibility requirements as traditional activities and sports.

  • Currently the following games will be available for competition in person through NISD Esports:

    • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

  • Competition rules will be published and available before qualifying games and tournaments.

  • Gameplay at time of competition will be observed and mediated by NISD Esports coaches, who retain the final decision on team rostering and play order within defined rulesets.

Alternating Wednesdays after school.

The Garden Club gives you an opportunity to get outside and enjoy nature and become more knowledgeable about how to care for the environment. We will learn about plants and the conditions that help them grow well by planting seeds and plants from the Bexar County Master Gardeners. We also have established butterfly gardens that are used to learn about native plants and wildlife.

Intramurals Sports logo

Northside ISD introduced the Intramural Program in 1992. The after-school program involves all middle schools and Health Careers High School and it is a place for students to enjoy recreational activity in the form of organized sports and tournaments at no cost to the family.

The 28-day program is available November thru March and will be led by campus teachers. Each campus will implement a schedule prior to the season beginning.

Please contact the front office for more information.

Neff Middle School Student Council:

Student Council is an organization where we aspire students to become leaders on our campus and within the community. The students volunteer their time to create a unified atmosphere on the campus by organizing events that pertain to all students and staff. They are viewed as the role models of our school.

Student Council Representative Responsibilities:

  • Follow Texan P.R.I.D.E.

  • Must maintain a passing grade in all classes throughout the year (representatives will be asked to complete a grade check at every meeting)

  • Attend scheduled meetings (usually once a month, although at times additional meetings may be requested pending school activity or event) If a member is absent, he/she must notify Mrs. Galus and Mrs. Soto in advance.

  • Participate in school activities and community events (transportation by parent/guardian will be needed for after school events)

  • Take initiative by being a positive and respectful role model that enriches our campus culture and community involvement.

  • Students must apply to be part of our Student Council

(Additional meetings will be scheduled throughout the school year pending the coordinating of events or the participation of events/activities.)
