Board of Trustees

Elected by the people to govern Northside Schools, Trustees are the guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for our schools. This responsibility and the accessibility of Trustees to the voters make the Board one of the purest examples of democracy in our society.

Northside Trustees represent about 208,000 households located in 355 square miles in northwest Bexar County and parts of Medina and Bandera counties. Northside continues to be the “destination” district in San Antonio for many families seeking a quality school system for their children and for employees seeking a quality place to work.

It is time for families to start updating their children’s immunizations in order to be prepared for school in August. Some students may not have the requisite number of shots and not know it due to the state increasing the number of shots required at various grade levels.

Since 1991, the NISD Board of Trustees signs a Code of Ethics annually, reaffirming their commitment to adhere to educational and ethical standards.

Northside ISD is holding an Auxiliary Job Fair to fill almost 300 positions for bus drivers, food service workers, food service manager trainees, police officers, custodians, and maintenance workers. The Job Fair will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, July 14 at the Northside Activity Center, 7001 Culebra Road.

Last night, Trustees discussed and took action on several items: presented the Northside Citizenship Award to a life-saving O’Connor HS graduate; approved a Growth & Improvement Budget for 2017-2018; signed a Code of Ethics, reaffirming their commitment to adhere to ethical and educational standards; and appointed several campus administrators, including a new principal for Taft HS.

To comply with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations, Northside ISD will once again offer free meals to children starting June 5. This year, free meals are available at 18 schools for children who are 18 years or younger.
