Board of Trustees

Elected by the people to govern Northside Schools, Trustees are the guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for our schools. This responsibility and the accessibility of Trustees to the voters make the Board one of the purest examples of democracy in our society.

Northside Trustees represent about 208,000 households located in 355 square miles in northwest Bexar County and parts of Medina and Bandera counties. Northside continues to be the “destination” district in San Antonio for many families seeking a quality school system for their children and for employees seeking a quality place to work.

Sixth, seventh and eighth grade choir students from 18 middle schools will sing and dance together for the tenth annual “Together We Sing” performance, being held at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 13 at the Northside Sports Gym.

Northside ISD is projecting more than 2,400 students to register in Pre-Kindergarten, a program for four-year-old children offered in 69 elementary schools for next year. Registration is underway at neighborhood schools during normal school hours.

Last night, Trustees discussed and took action on several items: approved 210 additional campus staff to accommodate growth and the opening of the Harlan HS and Kallison ES; approved the official calendar for the 2018-2019 school year; named “Grosenbacher area” elementary school after Dr. Linda Mora; and appointed campus administrators including three principals.

The Stevens High School Police Explorers program is in its first year of being a school organization and they are making great strides in preparing students for a future career. The after school program is teaching students real life police skills with on-hands training.
